BROOKLYN BREWERY PRESENTS THE JOY ANONYMOUS DOCUMENTARY

Brooklyn Brewery, in partnership with Universal Music, is proud to present the Brooklyn Pilsner x Joy Anonymous documentary. Shot between London and Brooklyn, New York, this eagerly anticipated short film captures an unorthodox movement that started in an unexpected moment. Expect a rare behind-the-scenes look into the creative process of Joy Anonymous, the viral London-based dance duo making waves for their uplifting anthems and joyful artistry. Motivated by feelings of isolation in lockdown, Henry Counsell and Louis Curran brought joy when people needed it the most.

The release of the Brooklyn Pilsner x Joy Anonymous film marks an unrivalled year for Joy Anonymous who have soared to success performing at Glastonbury Festival and Coachella, as well as selling out four headline New York shows, and their headline London show in only a few hours. They will also be supporting The Streets on their upcoming tour, and Fred Again on his Europe and US tour later this year. What started as intimate pop-up sessions with people seeking respite from the pandemic has grown into a wider movement of creative freedom. Hosting ‘meetings’ with an ever-growing collective of likeminded people, Joy Anonymous transcend social barriers by giving people a space to share their stories and fully express themselves.

“Like Brooklyn Brewery, we’re part of a movement that celebrates people coming together, without barriers. We’re proud of the music we make and community we’ve built. If we can move just one person, in whatever way, be it physically or emotionally, then we’ve done our job”
— Joy Anonymous

Brooklyn and London stand proud as cultural cornerstones of creativity, fuelling the fire for people across the world wanting to express their art, music, and movement. Brooklyn Brewery and Joy Anonymous run on this energy, intrinsically tied to the diverse and creative communities that motivate them, and empowered by the knowledge that inspiration can come from anything, anyone, anywhere. London-based Joy Anonymous are a real example of what can happen when vibrant, self-expressive and diverse people meet, and of how dance music and street performance has opened up to the masses through inclusivity. The perfect chemistry of music, spontaneity and joyful energy has allowed Joy Anonymous to tap into this, building a community where everyone is invited to be part of the journey.

Brooklyn Brewery is inspired by its namesake borough and embodies the welcoming spirit of its Brooklyn home. With a rich tapestry of cultural backgrounds and self-expression, Brooklyn fosters a unique feeling of belonging, where strangers are invited to be part of something bigger than themselves.
