Borderline Unveil New Single ‘When It’s Raining’
Borderline return with their evocative new single, When It’s Raining, officially released after debuting in their In My Room session for Rolling Stone AU/NZ. A follow-up to Heartbeat, the track explores themes of loneliness and isolation, offering listeners a sense of connection and understanding.
Recorded at Neil Finn’s Roundhead Studio in Auckland, the song was produced by Joel Jones (Will Swinton, alayna) and Nic Manders (SIX60, Katchafire), with mastering by Vivek Gabriel (The Paper Kites, Avantdale Bowling Club).
Accompanying the release is a striking music video by frequent collaborator Tom Grut, who embraces a darker, grittier aesthetic to match the song’s raw emotion.
Following their recent signing to global label EMPIRE, Borderline is set for a breakout year. This month, they make their U.S. debut at SXSW in Austin, followed by performances in New York and Los Angeles.
"Touring the States is a dream come true for us as four boys from New Zealand," the band shares. "We’re beyond grateful for the chance to bring our music to a global audience."
