INTERVIEW: ADEJOSH

What was the process like for creating these songs? In lockdown I assume.

The process of it was essentially locking in back to back sessions with ATG, we made 40 songs and narrowed it down to just 4 tracks. We intentionally did that because we wanted to leave the fans wanting more, and I hope we have achieved that.

What does it feel like having your EP 'All For Me' out now? Finally, after spending some time composing it and thinking up the lyrics?

I’ve been itching for this project to come out for a while now mainly because it is a piece of me. With all the hours in the studio creating this body of work, it’s beautiful to see how people are finally taking in my story and truth in my music. 'All For Me' is about me finally understanding what I want for myself and it’s translating well through the music.

100,000 streams for your first EP 'Confident' and being noticed on the global Afrobeat music scene must feel amazing. When was the moment that you thought "yes. I'm an artist that people are taking notice of". When did it hit you?

I started noticing people where taking me in when I started going out and I kept on hearing the same thing from strangers, "you’re going to be a star never give up", it got to a point it looked like my fans believed in me more than I believed in myself, the love and support that I get across different countries. It is also humbling because it shows that you never know how far your music can travel.

'All For Me' has 4 songs, which is your favourite and why?

When you have a great body of work, your favourite song always changes. I have periods where each track on the EP carries the #1 place as my favourite track but currently speaking, I woke up this morning and the title track 'All For Me' is my favourite track, because of the blend between my delivery and the beat, it resonates differently like no other song.

Tell us about yourself and why you got into music, who are your influences?

I got into music through church alongside ATG, I feel like my whole life was so planned/based around music, my understanding of humans and emotions all stemmed from my experience in music. I take this journey called life as an influence, from every music I hear to sounds from nature, I pick up something from everything and I use my experiences to create music that resonates with me and feels good to the soul.
