THE DROP: Aby Coulibaly - “Love Is Enough”
The Drop: Aby Coulibaly
“love is enough”
On “Love Is Enough”, Aby Coulibaly returns with honesty. Written in the aftermath of grief, the Dublin singer-songwriter explores what it means to continue loving someone through absence, even when the pain remains.
After a year spent turning inward following the loss of her father, Aby steps forward with a renewed sense of clarity. Where earlier work kept emotion at arm’s length, “Love Is Enough” leans into release, balancing vulnerability with a warmth that softens the weight of its subject matter. It’s heartbreak reframed through lightness. A reminder that humour, laughter and time often become the quiet remedies we reach for when words fall short.
Moving fluidly between soul, R&B, pop and more experimental textures, Aby’s sound has always reflected her instinct for emotional storytelling. Influenced by reggae rhythms, Senegalese musical traditions and the warmth of ’90s R&B, she first began sharing lyrics online in 2019 before arriving fully formed as an independent artist a year later.
Through her creative collective Chamomile Club, alongside collaborators Monjola and MOIO, Aby continues to carve out a community led path, curating intimate listening sessions and live events that reimagine what independence can look like both in Ireland and beyond. The collective have gone on to sell out 1.5K capacity venues and collaborate with platforms including Boiler Room and COLORS.
