THE DROP:SCORCHER-'ROADS'

The Drop — Scorcher & Kasst8 Connect on Raw Grime Cut “Roads”

Grime heavyweight Scorcher returns with fresh energy on “Roads”, linking up with Liverpool’s rising voice Kasst8 for a track rooted firmly in grime’s raw foundations.

Produced by Rxwntree, the record strips things back to the essentials. Punchy basslines and sharp synths carry the weight of a classic grime riddim while both artists bring their own regional perspective to the track.

From Edmonton to Toxteth, “Roads” feels like a meeting point of two scenes. Scorcher sets the tone with an energetic hook before diving into sharp, unfiltered bars reflecting on the streets that shaped him. Kasst8 follows with a calmer but equally confident delivery, bringing a laid back UK rap cadence that balances the track’s intensity.

It’s another strong moment for Scorcher, whose presence in the grime scene has remained consistent for over a decade. With more than 15 million streams across platforms and over 20 million YouTube views, his influence continues to stretch across generations of UK rap.

Beyond music, the Tottenham born artist has also carved out a parallel path on screen, appearing in series such as Top Boy and You Don’t Know Me, as well as films including The Intent and Offender.

His cultural impact hasn’t gone unnoticed. After taking home Best Grime Act at the MOBO Awards in 2025, Scorcher returns this year with another nomination and is set to appear alongside D Double E, NoLay, Wiley and Chip during a special performance celebrating 30 years of the ceremony.

With a year that already includes collaborations with Giggs and Sir Spyro, “Roads” continues Scorcher’s momentum while giving space for Kasst8 to stamp his voice alongside a grime pioneer.

The roads that shaped them both might look different, but on this record they meet in the middle
