7Wallace and Mass Appeal Announce Strategic Partnership

London based label 7Wallace, founded by Idris Elba, has announced a strategic partnership with Mass Appeal Records, the independent label and media company co founded by Nas.

The alliance strengthens an existing creative relationship between the two companies, which previously came together for Slick Rick’s recent album VICTORY. The project extended beyond music, arriving alongside VICTORY (The Film), a 30 minute visual accompaniment directed by Meji Alabi. Featuring appearances from Nas, Giggs and Estelle, the film premiered across major cultural stages including the Tribeca Film Festival, SXSW and HollyShorts Film Festival.

Now, the partnership moves into a new phase.

7Wallace and Mass Appeal plan to deepen their collaboration through co releases, cross market distribution and original content spanning music, film, media and live experiences. The move signals a shared ambition to bridge the UK and US hip hop ecosystems while expanding how independent labels operate globally.

Rachel Prager, Head of Music at 7Wallace, emphasised the cultural alignment behind the move.

“The synergy between 7Wallace and Mass Appeal is clear. We share a respect for rap culture, for legacy and for doing things with integrity. Every release in this next phase is intentional. We want to honour the foundation created by UK rap pioneers while capturing the raw grassroots energy of the scene.”

Mass Appeal CEO Peter Bittenbender echoed that sentiment, reflecting on the creative chemistry that sparked during the Slick Rick campaign.

“Working with Idris and the 7Wallace team on VICTORY was a powerful example of what can happen when there’s true creative alignment. We’re excited to extend the partnership and amplify more music and talent from across the pond.”

Alongside the partnership announcement, 7Wallace also confirmed the appointment of Char Grant as A&R Director. Known for her deep ties to UK music culture, Grant will help drive the label’s artist development strategy as it expands its global reach.

Founded in London by Idris Elba, 7Wallace has built a reputation for genre defying releases and cross disciplinary storytelling, working with artists including Little Simz, Kojey Radical, Che Lingo and Chip. Meanwhile, Mass Appeal has long positioned itself as one of hip hop’s most influential cultural platforms, expanding from publishing into music, film and television.

With new releases already on the horizon, the partnership hints at a future where independent collaboration moves fluidly across continents and mediums, connecting artists, stories and audiences through shared culture.
