City Splash 2025: The Ultimate Celebration of Culture, Music & Community.

City Splash returned to Brockwell Park with full force, bringing the unmistakable energy of Caribbean and African culture to South London. As always, the festival delivered an unforgettable day of music, food, community, and pure vibes, solidifying its place as one of the most anticipated events in the city’s cultural calendar.

From the moment you walk through the gates, the park was alive with the deep bass of reggae, dancehall, and Afrobeat, rolling out from multiple stages and sound systems. The lineup was nothing short of impressive, a well-curated mix of legendary acts and rising stars. Performances by artists like Spice and Ms Dynamite drew massive crowds, while the smaller stages gave a platform to DJs and collectives keeping the roots of the culture alive.

One of the standouts from City Splash has always been its atmosphere, and this year was no different. The crowd was diverse, vibrant, and full of joy. Families, long-time reggae heads, and new-generation ravers all danced side by side, united by a shared love for the music and the culture.

The food village deserves a special mention. From jerk chicken fresh off the grill to vegan options, there was a rich variety of authentic Caribbean dishes on offer. Long queues? Yes. Worth the wait? Absolutely.Beyond the music and food, the event also did well to showcase Black-owned businesses, arts, and wellness spaces — making it not just a festival, but a full cultural experience.

Of course, no festival is without its challenges. Some logistical issues around artist performance delays were noted, but overall, the atmosphere and energy more than made up for the minor hiccups. City Splash 2025 was a beautiful reminder of the power of community and culture, a one-day escape that felt like a celebration of identity and joy.

Already counting down to next year.
